International Korean Martial Arts Seminar 2009
Grandmaster Julian Lim will be visiting Kuching on the 7th of November 2009 and will be conducting a seminar from 1:30pm to 6pm.
Grandmaster Julian Lim - 8th Dan Hapkido, 8th Dan Taekwondo, 8th Dan Tukkong
Grandmaster Julian is the Father of Hapkido - Malaysia, and Chief Master of KOMA SEAPAC.
He was successful in achieving both his 8th Dan and “Best” Grand Master status for HapKiDo by the Korea HKD Association (KHA) in 2001 and awarded his 8th Dan for TaeKwonDo by the Korea ChungDoKwan™ Association in 2005.
Lim was honored to serve as a special adviser to the Royal Malaysian Armed Forces Unarmed Combat Institute, where he had aggressively headed the development of a new (basic) state-of-the art self-defense system (Close Quarter Combat, HKD TTS (or Tindakan Tempur Senjata HapKiDo) from 1993 to 1994. Training was also extended on special request to various individuals from U.S. Army Special Forces (SF), Special Operations (Rangers) and Airborne units (82nd, 101st and the JFKSWC). He held the acting rank of Lieutenant Colonel before retiring in 1999. LTC (Rtd) Lim is also a certified Associate Member of the US (Army SOF) 75th Ranger Regiment, American Airborne, US Airborne Pathfinder and US National Infantryman Associations. He is also recognized as a Master Instructor in Military Close Quarter Combat by the KWTA, KHF and the KKH. No other person in all 3 organizations’ history has been so recognized until now. LTC Lim was honored by an invitation to join the Korea World TukKong Association (KWTA) in December 2006 and currently holds the rank of 8th Dan. The KWTA is the official research and training arm for the ROK military Special Forces and Presidential Secret Service. Their specialty is in anti-terrorist CQC.
